Ben and his crew did excellent work. He followed through on everything he promised in regrading the yard and placing in a superb drainage system that solved a water problem in the basement. He was careful of the overall landscaping as well.

In a word, Soil Friends Excavation is FANTASTIC! Ben and Bob built a large retaining wall on a steep slope and were with us for almost 3 weeks. From start to finish, they CARED about the project as if building for their own home, 100% dedicated. Every day positive and upbeat, answered questions patiently, made excellent suggestions, and built a stunning wall! You won't find a more friendly, efficient, hard-working, dedicated crew than Ben's team. They truly go above and beyond. Highly and enthusiastically recommended!

Ben at Soil Friends put in the Lightfoot Mud Management panels around my new horse barn. They installed them according to the manufacturer's instructions and went above and beyond by being precise in their measurements and quality of work. They added extra topcoat of rocks, cleaned up afterwards and repaired any tracking in the grass by adding extra grass seed. I am more than happy with the results!

Five stars, and if we could we would give them ten stars! Not only did Ben and his crew do an amazing job at installing a french drain system around the terrace of our precious Frank Lloyd Wright designed house, but they were a pleasure to have around as well. Such nice guys! And very knowledgeable. They listened carefully to our wishes and delivered a very profesional job in just a few days time. Not only did they put the french drain system, but they also finished the work with very nice landscaping. We highly recommend Soil Friends Excavating, and will ask them to come back if we ever need more landscaping done.

I can not be happier with the lawn restoration work that Ben and his team performed for us. My husband and I are so very pleased with the care and effort that we received. The lawn restoration was needed on a somewhat emergency basis and was not something we had planned on needing. Ben really knows about lawns from a drainage standpoint, grading, and seeding. Our lawn is coming in very nicely. We know we got the best in business when we happened to find Ben.

Ben was great from start to finish. He gave me expert advice, explained the estimate in detail, and helped me decide how I wanted the work done. Ben and his crew just finished a job at our home, taking water away from where it had entered our basement beneath an egress window by adding and rebuilding retaining walls, drains, gravel and a French drain He was very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. His team was very efficient and professional. They started and finished the work right on time. They left our property looking much better than it did at the start, were extremely careful with any cables they encountered, fixed areas in the lawn that were affected by equipment, kept us updated on their progress daily, and kept to the price they quoted for the job. I would recommend them highly.

Truly amazing work! Our egress filled up with water and flooded our basement. With the new retaining wall and drain system they installed we should never have to worry about that nightmare again! Ben was such a great partner in a recent project on my farm. I was placing a pre-built shed for adaptation to a chicken coop. Ben came out and walked the property with me. He listened carefully to what was important to me and what I was trying to accomplish. He made suggestions and helped me make the best decision for the project. He then completed the pad for the shed to go on, ensuring it was level and would have proper drainage. Soil Friends' work is wonderful. They have installed a beautiful patio and retaining wall for new garden beds. Additionally, they have put all gutter/downspouts into drainage systems to route water from the house and most importantly, the basement. We had Soil Friends do two projects for us recently. First they removed a river rock filled garden in the back yard, hardscaping the area, removing the rock and the top layer of hard soil. They installed a retaining wall and filling it with new top soil. Bob's attention to detail made for well built and beautiful retaining wall.
The second project involved hardscaping an area where several pine trees had stood and building a mounded area for future trees and bushes. Ben kept us informed every step of the process. We highly recommend Soil Friends for any landscaping project.

Ben from Soil Friends Excavating put in 2 field stone bouder walls in our front yard plus they removed old landscaping shrubs that were not doing well due to being placed in a shady area & they required sun. They installed appropriate shubs for shade & installing landscaping cloth & mulch. They also brought in new soil for the side of the yard & seeded the entire side & front yard. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Very experienced workers that were very friendly. On a scale of 1 to 5, we would give them a 5 stars. They did a fantastic job. We highly recommend them.
